Magic Theo was over the Moon at receiving the Judges Special Commendation for Best Charity or Social Enterprise at The Sutton Business Awards 2018 from Headline Sponsors CNM Estates at The Holiday Inn Sutton.
Magic Theo has been raising money for Charity for over thirty-five years. It all started when he became a member of The Kingston Rotaract Club (Younger version of Rotary) at the tender age of 17. He was organising Fun Charity Sports Nights to Discos and the ever-popular Kingston Rotaract Pram Push. By the time he was twenty he had already raised quite a few thousand pounds. Then for the next few years raised quite a bit more for various Kingston Charities.
His highlight was helping raise over £3,000 for The British Water Ski Association based at Wraysbury when he became the youngest Rotaract District 1140 Chairman in the country. He was also taught to Water Ski by a Disabled person and then became an Instructor.
After moving to Sutton Magic Theo’s daughter Elena Magically appeared ten weeks early weighing only 2lbs. She is now 17 fit and healthy. Magic Theo was so impressed with the care she received at St Helier Neonatal Unit that as a thank you he worked hard in raising over £20,000 for a New Incubator.
For the last twenty years Magic Theo has been raising further funds for the Neonatal Unit and various other local Charities through his Fun Networking Group called “Extreme Business Networking by Theo The Magician” this can be viewed on Facebook. This is where Magic Theo brings together local businesses to have Fun whilst raising money for local Charities.
Magic Theo of Sutton was given the award for his last two Fundraising Events. The first was his Magic Sunflower Competition, which raised £2,400 for the Neonatal Unit St Helier, The Gary Mason Charity, Gigsaw4U & Trinity Scout & Guides. His second event was his Fun Charity Poker Night which raised £1,200 for The Royal Marsden, The Rob Watson Christmas Toy Appeal, Sutton Charities and All Saints Church Banstead held at Banstead Cricket Club and supported by Banstead Businesses.
